Not A Momentary High

I pray that this camp

Will not be a momentary high,

But will be a lasting lamp

That will light up the sky.

That everyone's life

Though young they may be,

Will be forever touched by

The Lord, God Almighty.

Not a momentary high

That reaches to the sky,

But fades away in time.

Lord, Let this camp be

A long-lasting impression

Not because of me,

Or my decision,

But let it come from you,

Whose promises stay true.

A heritage for tomorrow,

A promise that isn't hollow,

Not a momentary high

That will put a tear in Your eye.

I pray that in this camp

Your presence will be felt

Like the waters so damp

That in Your grace we will melt.
